Week 4 2021 picks

Last week: 11-5 Season record: 28-20 Okay now that we have the anything goes portion of the schedule over or just about over, we can predict what will happen each week with a bit more consistency.  Otherwise I'd just be some schmuck with a shitty picks blog.  Oh wait...never mind!   Jacksonville at Cincinnati --The Bengals came alive last weekend, stunning the Steelers in Pittsburgh.  I feel bad for future USC coach Urban Meyer, but I am hoping Trevor Lawrence throws a couple of TDs to my fantasy defense tonight.  Bengals 30, Jags 17 Washington at Atlanta --I heard the other day that Chase Young has zero sacks through three games.  Not only that, but the WFT gave up 43 points in Buffalo.  What happened to that vaunted defense?  WFT 20, Falcons 17 Houston at Buffalo --When you know you're old part 1.  Houston vs. Buffalo made my mind go to that playoff game between the Bills and the Houston OILERS in 1993.  The Bills came back from 3...

Week 3 2021 picks

Last week: 8-8 Season record: 17-15 I can't believe some of the results last week.  But to be fair, it was basically a continuation of the Week 1 weirdness, and who knows how much longer that will continue.  So let's throw some more spaghetti against the wall for Week 3! Carolina at Houston --This prediction is based solely on the fact that my fantasy opponent has Christian McCaffrey.  Expect four touchdowns and maybe 220 yards.  Panthers 28, Texans 14 Washington at Buffalo --I picked against the Bills last week, who promptly shut the fuck out of the Dolphins in Miami.  I won't make that mistake again.  Bills 27, WFC 17 Chicago at Cleveland --I hear Justin Fields will make the start which means Andy Dalton will be holding a clipboard for a long while.  Browns 20, Bears 19 Baltimore at Detroit --Lamar has re-established himself, so look out.  Ravens 34, Lions 13 Indianapolis at Tennessee --Something in my brain flashed back to when I lived in Nashv...

Week 2 2021 picks

Last week: 9-7 Season record: 9-7 So Week 1 is in the books, and it was a wild one.  There were some insane upsets and amazing performances and shitty performances.  And in the case of my G-men, a REAL shitty performance.  With that, let's see if we can improve on that 9-7 mark..... NY Giants at Washington --So the WFC tanked, errrrrr, let the Giants win their Week 17 game to close out the 2019 season, which secured the #2 pick in the draft while the Giants wound up with the #4 pick.  Everyone knew the second pick would be Chase Young, and indeed he was and wound up having a historic, defensive rookie of the year season.  Tonight we get to see Young opposite that #4 pick, Giants LT Andrew Thomas.  This will not be pretty, and neither will it be watching Taylor Heinecke look like Joe Montana against our defense.  Wow, I'm bitter.  WFC 27, Giants 10 Cincinnati at Chicago --The outcome of this came will hinge solely on if and when Matt Nagy grows the...

Week 1 2021 NFL picks

Holy crap, we're back!  The seven months without football went thankfully faster than usual, but you what they say--time flies when you're sniffing glue and taking ivermectin.  But I digress.  Since the 17-game season made the preseason just three games, coaches mostly put second, third and practice squad string players on the field.  This is not helpful whatsoever to those of us picking the games, but whatever.  It levels the playing field in some ways.  Or it doesn't.  Week 1 is always a crapshoot, so let's just dive in, shall we?   Dallas at Tampa Bay --The Thursday/Sunday Night Football kickoff game, as always, features the defending champion Buccaneers.  Tom Brady is an absurd 44 years old and somehow still elite.  But it's their defense that will (should? it's fucking week 1, remember?) shut down Dak and the Cowboys.  This Giants fan will enjoy that very much.  Bucs 32, Cowboys 20 Philadelphia at Atlanta --Matt Ryan ...
