Week 2 2020 picks

Last week: 9-7 TNF: 1-0 Season record: 10-7 Just as an FYI, I'm sick with the flu or sinus infection.  It's not Covid though, thankfully.  I tell you this, fellow readers, because I might say some things on this post that seem odd or confusing because I have a head and chest full of snot and.....whoa that took a turn.  see what I mean?  Let's get to the picks...... Atlanta at Dallas --There is no way Jerry's Boys or let's call them Jerry's Kids (see what I did?  I hear the PC police coming now) are going to lose their home opener against the Falcons.  Cowboys 35, Falcons 21 NY Giants at Chicago --I joked with a fellow Giants fan the other day that looking at the Giants schedule, they might go 0-16.  They probably won't but if it happens, I will remind you that you heard it here.  After which I will go sulk in the corner.  Bears 27, Giants 17 Detroit at Green Bay --Oof, the Lions are gonna get shredded by Mr. Rodgers.  Has anyone noticed ...

Week 2 TNF pick

Last week: 9-7 Season record: 9-7 Okay s,o week 1 was an educational experience because we had no preseason.  Of course there were some surprises but there were also some games that went exactly as expected (looking at you, Giants) Cincinnati at Cleveland --You would think the Browns have the upper hand here with the Bengals being led by a rookie QB, albeit a golden boy Ohio QB who quite possibly might lift that franchise from the depths of Suck Ocean.  I so want to pick the Bengals here but I also think at the end of the day the Browns are just better....so I like the Browns unless Odell drops another 8 passes.  Browns 23, Bengals 20

Week 1 2020 picks

Hey, I got the first pick correct so I feel good going into the full slate on Sunday and Monday.  So with that, let's get to it..... Philadelphia at Washington --Is it weird to any of you that the team formerly known as the Redskins has no team name now other than Washington football team?  Whatever.  Eagles 22, Football Team 17 Miami at New England --It's gonna be strange seeing Belichick with Cam Newton as his QB.  If Cam stays healthy, and that's a big IF, the Pats will actually be pretty good.  Patriots 27, Dolphins 14 Green Bay at Minnesota --This should be another solid rivalry in 2020.  Not that it ever isn't but I mean they will vie for the NFC North title right until Week 17.  Vikings 24, Packers 23 Indianapolis at Jacksonville --Every metric I see has the Jags winning maybe one game this season.  Frank Reich is a damn good coach who will elevate the Colts, who have added veteran QB Philip Rivers.  Colts 34, Jaguars 13 Chicago at Det...

Week 1 TNF pick

hey everyone....welcome to a new season in a weird, shitty year with a lot of question marks.  At the time of the NFL draft, I wondered aloud how they were going to actually play football in 2020 with a pandemic raging.  Other sports have resumed playing in restricted conditions with revised rules, and with no fans in attendance.  Baseball has had hiccups but has stayed committed and the NHL and NBA have resumed in "bubbles" with almost zero cases of covid.  But other sports are not football, a contact sport with sweat and spit flying freely around.   And so, while I'm skeptical that the NFL season will go on from tonight and into February, and I fear for the health and safety of the players, coaches and refs, I will still happily watch the games.  Welcome back, NFL.   And now with no preseason and me not having read much of anything NFL-related, I come into Week 1 with very little feel for how the games will shake out.  So, you may not ...
