Week 12 the rest of the picks

Thanksgiving Day record: 1-2 Season record: 93-74-1 Well I hate to be wrong but I was twice yesterday.  And I really did not mind one bit being wrong about Dallas.  Getting to see the look on Cowboys' fans faces as the Raiders upset their team in Jerry World was way more satisfying than I should care to admit.  Also, wow....the Raiders came close to blowing the game several times down the stretch and were rewarded by the football gods with a pass interference call in OT that pretty much iced it.  Now, let's prognosticate the rest of the weekend's games..... Pittsburgh at Cincinnati --These AFC North games are typically hard-hitting and unpredictable.  Bengals 23, Steelers 20 Tampa Bay at Indianapolis --This is actually a potential doozy of a game.  Yes I just used the word "doozy" in a sentence.  Bucs 31, Colts 24 Carolina at Miami --Don't look now, but somehow the Dolphins are crawling into playoff contention.  Dolphins 19, Panthers 17 Tennessee ...

Week 12 Thanksgiving Day picks

Last week 6-9 Season record: 92-72-1 Wow, what a freaking mess this season is as far as picks.  Now that betting is like 100% legal the bookies must be cleaning up because every week there are two or three stunning upsets.  Jacksonville over Buffalo?  Check.  Houston over Tennessee?  Check.  Detroit almost beating Pittsburgh but actually tying, in Pittsburgh?  I mean it's stupid.  But there are also less shocking upsets each week too.  This is my excuse for that piss poor record above anyway.   So, Happy Thanksgiving to you all and enjoy the three games on tap!  We'll be back tomorrow with the rest of the week's picks.   Chicago at Detroit --Oh yeah, it's happening.  The Lions are catching a very tenuous Bears team at home where they tend to always play well on Turkey Day.  Lions 23, Bears 21 Las Vegas at Dallas --I know the Cowboys have lost, what, two out of three?  But the Raiders are in a freaking t...

Week 11 2021 picks

Last week: 6-7-1 Season record: 86-63-1 Okay so let me get this out of the way.  Ties suck.  I remember back in the day going to Islanders games before they went to having overtimes and shootouts.  When you walk out of a tie game, it feels weird.  You don't know if you should be happy or pissed, so you leave feeling.....nothing.  It's just stupid.  I really can't believe the Steelers were so inept without Big Ben that they almost lost to the fucking Lions at home!  But no, the Lions were who we thought they were, except for the not losing part.  Anyway, I was tempted to call the tie a loss, but fuck that....it's not my fault it ended that way.  So now I have to put that -1 in my record, and when I do I feel nothing again. New England at Atlanta --Oh good, we're going to be reminded of that stupid Super Bowl from a few years ago, when Matt Ryan's Falcons couldn't hold a 28-3 lead and lost in OT.  I feel bad for their fans (all seven of th...

Week 10 2021 picks

Last week: 8-6 Season record: 80-56  Hey everyone.....so after one of the weirdest weeks we've ever seen in the NFL, I was fully expecting to pull back the blankets from my bed of NFL picks to find that I had shit this particular bed.  But no, I had an 8-6 record....the incorrect picks being the Bills, Rams, Bengals, Raiders, Cowboys, and Saints....five of which I'm guessing at least 90% of pickers picked.  I'd love to see what the chances were before kickoff that all six of those games would be upsets.   Anyway, let's move on to Week 10! Baltimore at Miami --No one will be surprised if Miami pulls off an upset here, just based on the wacky week to week nature of the 2021 NFL.  However, it's probably not going to happen.  Right?  Ravens 23, Dolphins 13 Atlanta at Dallas --I feel like a case can be made for Matt Ryan to get some MVP votes.  Cowboys 27, Falcons 24 New Orleans at Tennessee --I'm not sure I can pick against the Titans again this ...

Week 9 2021 picks

Last week: 7-8 Season record: 72-50 I can't remember the last time I had two sub-.500 weeks in the middle of the season, but unlike Joe Judge I won't blame my poor performance on headset issues.  I will still run my laps though, and then make some picks. Okay here we go..... NY Jets at Indianapolis --Mike Freaking White.  It's hilarious how all these first round golden boys like Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Zach Wilson, Trevor Lawrence, Daniel Jones, Trey Lance, Jared Goff, Tua, Carson Wentz wind up in the proverbial NFL landfill....and then someone like Mike White comes along.  This guy was a FIFTH round pick. He looked like Aaron Rodgers last week.  Now let's see if the next opponent's defense paid attention and slows him down, or if the Jets stumbled into good fortune for a change.  Colts 28, Jets 24 Okay I'm off to a 1-0 start this week!  Now on to the rest of the slate...... Cleveland at Cincinnati --Nothing good has happened for OBJ since the infamous boa...
