Conference championship picks

Last week: 0-4 (ha!) Season record: 161-121-1 What the hell was that?  Everyone is not incorrectly calling it the single greatest weekend of NFL games ever.  I felt like I needed a weeks vacation after that, and I didn't even have a dog in any of those fights.  However, I was rooting hard for the Bills, and so I felt on some tiny level the pain that that entire fan base must have been feeling and probably still feels and will feel for at least 8 more months.  But hey, there are games this weekend too!  It's very likely we'll have a letdown in competitiveness.  It's also very possible the games will be just as insane as last week.  We can only hope.  So with that, let's pick 'em! Cincinnati at Kansas City --The Bengals upset the Chiefs just four weeks ago, and if you feel like you've aged 20 football years since then, you are definitely not alone.  How is it possible that game was in 2022?  So it stands to reason that Cincinnati can actua...

Divisional round picks

Last week: 5-1 Season record: 161-117-1 Last weekend, we were treated to two great games and four blowouts.  I welcomed the addition of a 7-seed in each conference, but I am re-thinking my stance on that. Two extra games on wild card weekend when those games are not even remotely competitive kind of blows.  Especially when I can't just switch over to Red Zone.  But okay.  Now comes what I think is the best football weekend of the year--the truly Elite 8 of the NFL.  Let's fucking go! Cincinnati at Tennessee --Hypothetically, if the Bengals win, will the NFL put this game in a new Saturday afternoon time slot for the AFC championship game?  It'll just feel downright weird watching a Bengals Sunday playoff game.  Oh, Derrick Henry makes his return, and what I've seen of Mike Vrabel's Titans even without Henry leads me to believe that Joe Burrow's Bengals will not be playing next weekend.  Titans 30, Bengals 27 San Francisco at Green Bay --It's gonna...

Wild Card round picks

Last week: 6-10 Season record: 156-116-1 Well, I'm just gonna blame my poor Week 18 showing on all the players that were resting for the playoffs or on IR or Covid list or essentially not caring about the final regular season game.  Yeah that's it.  But now it's for real, all the marbles and every other cliche you can come up with.  So let's dig in...... Las Vegas at Cincinnati --A few years back the first wild card game was almost always Cincinnati vs. Houston or included one team or the other.  I think the last few years have broken that trend, but here we are again.  When I saw who would be playing who I predicted the Bengals game would be first and here we are.  This proves absolutely nothing of substance, but sometimes you have to amuse yourself.  This Raiders team should scare the shit out of the Bengals, but Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase are in such a zone and they are hungry.  Bengals 31, Raiders 27 New England at Buffalo --This is the firs...

Week 18 picks

Last week: 13-3 Season record: 150-106-1 Not to too my own horn here or anything but I must say that in addition to having a great week picking the games, I picked one score exactly right (Bengals 34, Chiefs 31) and three others very close (Niners 22, Texans 9....the actual was 23-7)....(Bears 23, Giants 6....the actual was 29-3)....(Saints 20, Panthers 10...the actual was 18-10).  But wait there's more.  I picked the exact point totals for two more teams, Denver (13) and Las Vegas (23).  All of which means I fully expect to shit the bed this week.  So let's get to it! Kansas City at Denver --While it's highly unlikely the Titans lose to Houston, the best KC can hope for is to stay at the #2 seed.  Which means they need this game, and they are playing too well to make you believe otherwise.  Chiefs 27, Broncos 16 Dallas at Philadelphia --This is a must see TV division game on Saturday night, but both teams are already in the playoffs.  This is a battle...
