Championship round picks

Last week: 3-1 Postseason record: 6-2 Season record: 177-85-2 For the most part, we've been treated to some really quality match ups in the postseason so far.  But aside from Eagles/Bears and Eagles/Saints, there haven't been any edge-of-your-seat finishes.  Some of these games have been over before halftime, and nobody wants to see that this time of year, except of course fans of the winning teams.  As a Giants fan, I can say that I'm never not nervous, even with a 5-touchdown lead.  But hopefully tomorrow's games will be nail-biters and have some fantastic finishes, because that is what most of us want to see.  And with the four top seeds all still playing tomorrow, it's hard to imagine both games not being great.  So with that, let's pick these games! LA Rams at New Orleans --The Superdome is a very loud place, which is going to make things tough for Rams' QB Jared Goff.  And with the Saints being a stout run stuffing team, you know they are ...

Divisional round picks

Last week: 3-1 Season record: 174-84-2 Last week was great to watch, but this week all four games can potentially be explosive and awesome.  Let's hope for some drama rather than blowouts, but you never know in the NFL.  So let's get to it..... Indianapolis at Kansas City --I keep having this nagging feeling.  The Colts are on an enormous roll, and the Chiefs have stumbled in the four quarter of the season.  But then I keep thinking about the Chiefs and Pat Mahomes and how explosive that offense is.  The weather is not ideal, and Andy Reid may mismanage the clock somehow, but it's hard to pick against the Chiefs at home, weather be damned.  Chiefs 34, Colts 31 Dallas at LA Rams --Dallas has an impressive defense and run game.  So do the Rams.  But when you look at the rosters overall, it's hard to go against the Rams at home, a year after they tasted a bitter defeat in the wild card round against the Falcons here.  The Cowboys were 3-5 ...

Wild card weekend picks

Last week: 12-4 Season record: 171-83-2 So the long (not really) and winding (not really) regular season is now in the books (really).  Which means we have 11 games left in the NFL season before seven months of gloom.  But before that, we have the best part of the schedule to get through, starting with wild card weekend!  Here are the picks..... Indianapolis at Houston --We are inevitably always treated to a game involving one (or in this case two) AFC South teams on the Saturday afternoon postseason kickoff game.  That should tell you what the NFL thinks of the teams in that division, no?  So I know Houston is favored and almost everyone will pick them to win, but if you haven't seen the resurgence of Andrew Luck the past two months, you will witness it again tomorrow.  Colts 24, Texans 23 Seattle at Dallas --All I can think of with this game is that time in which Tony Romo was the holder and fumbled a snap for a game winning field goal, and the Sea...
