Week 8 2021 picks

Last week: 6-7
Season record: 65-42

There were some weird results last week, and some absolute blowouts.  In short, there were very few compelling matchups.  Week 8 is more of the same turd soup, except for maybe tonight's Cards-Packers....a potential NFC title game preview.  I'd also like to remind everyone that the midpoint of the season won't be until after Week 9 this year.  I'd also like to remind everyone that 9-8, 4-13, and 16-1 records are gonna be weird to look at.

Green Bay at Arizona--The Packers are 6-1 and the Cards are the only remaining undefeated team at 7-0.  Arizona has proven themselves more than once this season--with road wins against Tennessee, Cleveland and the L.A. Rams.  Now comes another test in the form of the best QB their D has faced so far this season.  Cards 34, Packers 27

Carolina at Atlanta--This one is for all the marbles as far as which team is worse than mediocre in the NFC South.  The Panthers opened 3-0 and then lost 4 straight including an ass whipping at the hands of my Giants last Sunday.  Falcons 24, Panthers 14

Miami at Buffalo--Hoo boy.  Miami did not get the post London bye last week, and now has to travel to Buffalo to face the favorite to win the AFC title, who DID have a bye last week.  Bills 34, Dolphins 13

San Francisco at Chicago--Two coaches.  Four quarterbacks.  Constant controversy.  Tune in this Sunday to see who makes it out alive.  Bears 20, Niners 17

Pittsburgh at Cleveland--The tides have turned when you consider the Steelers are the worst team in the AFC North.  Browns 23, Steelers 20

Philadelphia at Detroit--I have four words for Dan Campbell and for all NFL coaches--MORE TRICK PLAYS PLEASE.  Eagles 24, Lions 17

Tennessee at Indianapolis--The Titans are coming off home wins against Buffalo and KC.  So naturally they will shit the bed in Indy.  Colts 29, Titans 26

Cincinnati at NY Jets--I know a lot of Jets fans.  And I've never heard them so despondent as they were after that ugly loss in New England.  You can change coaches, players, front office, etc. but fans feel like this is never gonna turn around.  Bengals 27, Jets 6

LA Rams at Houston--The Texans are just fucking awful, and with how they treated and are treating DeShaun Watson, it's in part karma that they are this awful.  Rams 42, Texans 10

New England at LA Chargers--Seeing how the Ravens clamped down Justin Herbert and company has me worried that this upstart Pats' D can do the same to my fantasy QB.  Chargers 21, Patriots 18

Jacksonville at Seattle--Oh yeah, riveting game here!  Why not move this one to London?  Seahawks 24, Jaguars 20

Washington at Denver--I think I saw the WFT's defense on a milk carton the other day.  Broncos 17, WFT 16

Tampa Bay at New Orleans--Is it possible that the Saints pull an upset here?  Sure, just like it's possible that worms grow wings and fly.  Bucs 31, Saints 20

Dallas at Minnesota--The Cowboys are looking as scary as they have looked since those days when Dez Bryant's spectacular catches were ruled non-catches.  Cowboys 27, Vikings 23

NY Giants at Kansas City--My Giants are lucky to catch the Chiefs right after they had their worst showing in years in Nashville.  The Giants' D held Sam Darnold to 3 points but Patrick Mahomes is just a little better than that guy.  And the Chiefs have too many weapons.  Chiefs 42, Giants 30
