Week 7 2021 picks

Last week: 8-6
Season record: 59-35

I got a bit cocky last week, thinking I was doing so well with big weeks (11-5, 12-4, and 11-5) the last three.  So I then picked the Bears to beat the Packers and Browns to beat the Cards and a few other stumbles.  Now it's time to focus as we get into the middle part of the NFL schedule, so let's get to it!

Denver at Cleveland--Former Bronco Case Keenum will now face one of his former teams, which isn't a stretch considering this dude changed teams every year between 2015 and 2020.  That has to be some kind of NFL record, right?  Anyway the Browns have kept him around for a second year so we'll see if that was a smart decision as he starts for Baker Mayfield.  Oh and Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are both out.  Good luck Case.  Broncos 20, Browns 16

Washington at Green Bay--I know Aaron Rodgers is one of the faces of the sport, but I don't understand why he didn't get called for taunting last week in Chicago.  Sure, it's the fans and not the opposing players, but if ol' Rog and the dipshits running the league wanna crack down on taunting (which is so stupid to begin with), why give Rodgers a pass?  Packers 31, WFT 23

Kansas City at Tennessee--I think Mahomes flipped a switch last week realizing his team could fall to 2-4 and started doing his thing again where he takes over the game with no-look passes, deep bombs, and a bit of running.  But the Titans just upset Buffalo in this building.  Hmmm.  Chiefs 28, Titans 26

Atlanta at Miami--Last week was rock bottom for Miami as they lost in London to the Jags, who had previously lost like 20 games in a row.  I want to pick them here, but for fuck's sake they didn't get the customary bye week after a London game.  Okay, fuck it.  Dolphins 19, Falcons 16

NY Jets at New England--The last time these teams met the Pats destroyed the Jets in their own building 25-6.  There is nothing I have seen to make me think this won't happen again.  Patriots 24, Jets 9

Carolina at NY Giants--Sam Darnold returns to the Meadowlands where the visiting teams have fared quite well the last two seasons.  The Giants have too many injuries on offense and an underwhelming D.  Panthers 27, Giants 13

Cincinnati at Baltimore--Oddly enough, this is for first place in the AFC North and the Bengals are starting to sprout as a contender.  However, Lamar is playing too well to pick against.  Ravens 33, Bengals 21

Philadelphia at Las Vegas--Most people thought the Raiders would collapse after Jon Gruden was let go.  Instead they beat up on the Broncos in Denver.  I think it's time to stop underestimating them.  Raiders 24, Eagles 20

Detroit at LA Rams--This isn't quite Brady vs. the Pats, but seeing Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford play against the teams that traded one for the other.  Or something like that.  I do like seeing Stafford excel in L.A. but Goff is in football purgatory.  Rams 41, Lions 10

Houston at Arizona--Has DeAndre Hopkins faced his former team yet?  Does anyone care?  Here is something I care about--Arizona is getting zero respect from the national media, who keep talking about Dallas, Tampa, Green Bay and the LA Rams as being the best teams in the NFC.  Meanwhile, the Cards are 6-0 and they punked the Rams in So-Fi a few weeks ago.  Cardinals 35, Texans 6

Chicago at Tampa Bay--A prime matchup of NFC Central rivals circa 25 years ago.  Bucs 27, Bears 16

Indianapolis at San Francisco--I have no idea what to make of either of these below average teams, do you?  Niners 19, Colts 17

New Orleans at Seattle--Another Monday night yawn fest, but we get to see if Eli double birds the camera again, so there's that.  Seahawks 23, Saints 20

On bye this week: Dallas, Minnesota, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, LA Chargers
