Super Wild Card Weekend picks
Last week: 11-5
Season record: 160-96
Holy crap, what a weekend we have in store. I hope this is the only year they call it "Super" Wild Card Weekend, but we'll see. Still, six games is better than four. We don't have to wait until 4:30pm EST for the first Saturday game....it's all 1pm EST and into the night with three games on each day. So with that, let's get to it....
Indianapolis at Buffalo--Last year the Bills were a feel-good story. This year they are the 2-seed and a fucking offensive juggernaut. The Colts do not suck, but Josh Allen's Bills are just going to roll over them. Bills 31, Colts 24
LA Rams at Seattle--This Rams team has looked Super Bowl worthy and Top 5 draft pick worthy in the same season. Jared Goff is not Tom Brady, but John Wolford has one NFL start under his belt and quite possibly will start this game. Oh and Isaac Bruce...ouch, but he's not wrong. Meanwhile, there is a QB in Seattle who will be chased by Aaron Donald but still find a way to get it done. Seahawks 23, Rams 9
Tampa Bay at Washington--Doug Pederson prevented this from being a Tom Brady facing the Giants reunion, and maybe that's a good thing. Still, this WFC pass rush rivals the one the Giants employed in the two Super Bowl wins over Brady's Pats. It's just that how much can Alex Smith do against that Bucs' D? Bucs 23, WFC 17
Baltimore at Tennessee--This game is a beauty and could feature a shitload of offense. And when that includes Derrick Henry, Lamar Jackson, AJ Brown and JK Dobbins, I'm okay with that. Ravens 37, Titans 35
Chicago at New Orleans--This might be the biggest mismatch of the weekend, but Chicago's defense kind of mitigates that a bit. Still, the Saints D is stout as well and if they can stop David Montgomery on the ground, they won't worry too much about Mitchell Trubisky beating them through the air. Saints 27, Bears 13
Cleveland at Pittsburgh--It's such a feel-good story that the Browns made the playoffs for the first time in 18 years, so of course the football gods took away their head coach and playcaller with Covid as well as a few players. The Browns will put up a valiant fight in Pittsburgh, but Big Ben will find a way to win like he usually does in big games. Steelers 26, Browns 20
