Week 16 2020 picks

Last week: 12-4
Season record: 139-85

Is it really Week 16 already?  I'm frankly amazed that all four major sports have been able to put some semblance of a season together, but particularly the NFL.  These guys are out there breathing and spitting and jumping into piles of bodies for three hours, not counting practices.  Sure, games have been postponed and moved and players have opted out or have had to sit after testing positive.  But the games are on track to all be played (knocks wood).  So let's pick them.....

Minnesota at New Orleans--Wow, the Vikings have to be infuriating their fans.  They have arguably the best running back in the NFL, two of the freakishly best receivers in the game, and a better than average QB.  It's their usual solid D that has given up the third worst point total in the NFC that has them floundering and on the outside looking in for a playoff berth.  And they get a road game with the Saints on Christmas Day.  Yikes.  Saints 31, Vikings 17

Tampa Bay at Detroit--This is the first of three Saturday games, and the Bucs still have a chance at winning the NFC South.  So there is no way they let this gimme of a game get away from them.  Bucs 27, Lions 20

San Francisco at Arizona--The temporarily housed AZ Niners at the host AZ Cards.  Or something.  Cards 26, Niners 17

Miami at Las Vegas--Marcus Mariota might start for Vegas, and if he does it would mean two Hawaiian natives (he and Tua) would be the starting QBs in this game.  There is no way that's happened before, right?  Dolphins 23, Raiders 19

Indianapolis at Pittsburgh--Holy hell, what happened to the Steelers?  I do think they turn it around Sunday.  Steelers 27, Colts 24

Atlanta at Kansas City--Week by week, Patrick Mahomes is making a case that he could be the best QB to ever play the game.  It will take a few more seasons of consistent gaudy stats, and maybe another ring or two in order for others to believe that, but for me he passes that eye test already with flying colors.  Chiefs 38, Falcons 17

Chicago at Jacksonville--It would be just like the Bears to lose this one after proving to us they belong in the playoff hunt.  But the Jags now own the #1 pick in the draft and I think they tank better than the Jets.  Bears 20, Jags 16

Cincinnati at Houston--I don't for the life of me know how this Texans team is only 4-10.  Texans 23, Bengals 17

NY Giants at Baltimore--The Giants were looking so utterly dominant a few weeks ago and then shit the bed two weeks in a row, while Baltimore has returned to contending form.  Lamar is going to just shred my G-men.  Ravens 31, Giants 9

Cleveland at NY Jets--The Jets upset the Rams in L.A. last week.  Not only did this destroy many a survivor pool, but the Jets went up to the front door of their collective fan base's house, and lit a Trevor Lawrence size bag of dog shit on fire before ringing the bell and running.  Browns 27, Jets 13

Carolina at Washington--The WFC D is getting scarier and scarier by the week.  WFC 24, Panthers 14

Denver at LA Chargers--I'm sick that Justin Herbert went back to school for his senior year, because Dave Gettleman would have picked him to be the Giants QB over Daniel Jones.  Chargers 28, Broncos 19

Philadelphia at Dallas--Jalen Hurts has made the Eagles at least 50% better the past two games.  Eagles 24, Cowboys 23

LA Rams at Seattle--Seattle can clinch the NFC West with a win, and probably will.  Seahawks 22, Rams 17

Tennessee at Green Bay--Two prolific offenses and a possible Super Bowl preview.  Seriously, the Titans have scored the most points in the NFL this year, 436.  Green Bay is third with 434, with the Chiefs in between them at 435.  My first thought there is, "the Titans have more points than KC?"  Titans 35, Packers 33

Buffalo at New England--The first playoff field without the Patriots since 2008 will be quite enjoyable.  Bills 26, Patriots 21
