Week 12 2020 picks

Last week: 9-5
Season record: 99-62

Here we are, folks.  It's Thanksgiving week and with that, three games on the slate for tomorrow, and 13 more on Sunday and Monday.  Which means no bye weeks, but there are two for next week--Carolina and Tampa.  Not that I expect you to need that information, but if it comes up at the dinner table, you will look like an NFL expert.  You're welcome.  Now on to the picks....

Houston at Detroit--I really have no idea what to make of the Lions, but I do feel like Matt Patricia should file for unemployment soon, if only as a stopgap until Belichick brings him back.  Lions 19, Texans 17

WFC at Dallas--You may think this is an awful matchup of 3-7 teams, and yeah it is.  But it's also a game that will determine who steps into the NFC East lead.  I'm not ruling out the possibility of a tie, which would make for a most hilarious three way tie between these two teams and the Eagles, at least until Sunday.  Cowboys 26, WFC 20

Baltimore at Pittsburgh--I came so close to picking the Ravens, because up seems to be down and down seems to be up in the 2020 NFL.  But I just can't do it.  Steelers 23, Ravens 22

Miami at NY Jets--The Jets just have to keep this winless dream alive, don't they?  Dolphins 20, Jets 10

Arizona at New England--The Patriots make no sense to me anymore.  But you know Bill will figure out a way to neutralize Kyler.  Patriots 31, Cards 28

Carolina at Minnesota--The Vikings have to be the best 4-6 team out there, right?  Vikings 24, Panthers 19

Cleveland at Jacksonville--Incredibly, the Browns have moved ahead of the Ravens into second place.  Not that anyone cares right now, but Odell who?  Browns 21, Jags 12

Tennessee at Indianapolis--Now this is a juicy matchup.  I haven't heard this yet but I'm putting Frank Reich's name into the hat for coach of the year.  Colts 28, Titans 25

NY Giants at Cincinnati--I am going to have to go against my grain of picking my Giants to lose.  I would have picked the Bengals if the WFC didn't blow up Joe Burrow's knee, but I can't do it with Ryan Finley in there.  Giants 27, Bengals 20

LA Chargers at Buffalo--Is it me or do the two LA teams seem to be on the east coast every other week?  Bills 31, Chargers 17

Las Vegas at Atlanta--This should be an easy one to pick, but I'm not fooled.  The Falcons are much better after firing Dan Quinn.  Falcons 27, Raiders 26

San Francisco at LA Rams--Sean McVey should also get coach of the year consideration.  Rams 24, Niners 14

New Orleans at Denver--Man, this Broncos team can be pesky at home, and without Drew Brees I think Taysom Hill gets a dose of peskiness.  Broncos 19, Saints 17

Kansas City at Tampa Bay--I looked at this and thought to myself how much better this game will be on CBS with Nantz/Romo than with Buck/Aikman.  Chiefs 34, Bucs 31

Chicago at Green Bay--I can't believe how fast the Bears have unraveled.  Then again, I can.  Packers 30, Bears 13

Seattle at Philadelphia--The Eagles are going to shit the bed on Monday night, and I can't even joke about that fan eating horse shit after the Super Bowl anymore.  Seahawks 35, Eagles 24

  1. You may want to rethink the Denver pick. They have no quarterbacks left.
