Week 10 picks

Last week: 9-5
Season record: 80-55-1

There are weird things happening all around us.  The picks in some ways are getting easier but you will inevitably have statistical anomalies--like the Patriots giving up about 70% of the total points they have given up through 8 games, on one Sunday night.  Speaking of Sunday night, I had no idea that there was some kind of lawsuit about the theme song of SNF, probably because the NFL vultured a Joan Jett song's chords and melody.  So now it's Carrie Underwood AND Joan Jett.  I didn't know this because I try to never put myself in position to hear that abomination.  I leave the room or hit mute or start the game 10 minutes in.

Anyway I'm a music publicist in another life and one of our clients, Kate Mills, just released a song that is ballsy and melodic and the title, "Outrun the Night" can be altered to be "On Sunday Night."  I mean, the song kicks ass, check it out.  Hey NFL and NBC, call me, okay?  I'm only partially joking.

Oh yeah, the picks....

LA Chargers at Oakland--Is it just me or do the Chargers start every season at .500 or sub-.500 only to look like the '85 Bears at the end of the season?  Raiders 23, Chargers 20

Kansas City at Tennessee--It appears Patrick Mahomes will return to the field Sunday, but how effective/rusty will he be?  Chiefs 20, Titans 16

Arizona at Tampa Bay--Do the Bucs look like a 2-6 team?  I am not backing this up with stats but they seem to be in every game.  Bucs 30, Cards 27

NY Giants at NY Jets--How does this work?  Do the Giants have to actually use the visitor's locker room, or do they each have their own locker rooms at Met Life?  Why do I think about this stupid shit?  Jets 19, Giants 17 (I hope I'm wrong but the Giants might actually lose out)

Atlanta at New Orleans--Oooh, this is gonna be ugly.  Saints 31, Falcons 7

Buffalo at Cleveland--The Browns underachieving is one of the saddest story lines this season.  The Bills?  They might be over-achieving.  Browns 21, Bills 17

Baltimore at Cincinnati--The 2008 Lions will not be popping champagne this week.  Ravens 37, Bengals 3

Detroit at Chicago--Speaking of underachieving....did anyone see the Packers and Vikings pulling away from these two teams midway through the seasons?  Lions 23, Bears 17

Miami at Indianapolis--Now that the Dolphins have one win, can they have a winning streak?  Uhhhh, no.  Colts 27, Dolphins 14

LA Rams at Pittsburgh--The Rams come off the bye looking up at both the 49ers and Seahawks.  Call it the curse of being gifted a Super Bowl berth by the refs.  Rams 24, Steelers 23

Carolina at Green Bay--This is not going to be the walk in the park the Packers want after losing their second game of the year to the Chargers.  Packers 27, Panthers 24

Minnesota at Dallas--This should be a good one, except I have a feeling Kirk Cousins is due for one of those 4-pick games.  Cowboys 31, Vikings 17

San Francisco at Seattle--After enduring some hideous matchups like Jets/Pats and Steelers/Dolphins, ESPN finally has a ratings beauty here with a battle for first place in the NFC West.  Booger's gonna be in his glory.  Seahawks 20, Niners 17
