Week 2 picks
Last week: 10-5
Last night: 0-1
Season record: 10-6
Like I've said before, these first few weeks of the NFL season are extremely difficult to predict. That's also what makes it fun, unless you root for the Bengals or Texans. So let's have at it.....
Cleveland at Baltimore--Almost twenty years later, it's clear that Art Modell not only moved the Browns out of Cleveland. He moved any hope of Cleveland ever finishing in third place in the AFC North again. Well, maybe the Bengals will have something to say about that this year. Ravens 23, Browns 10
Chicago at Tampa Bay--I'm assuming the Bucs' stadium hasn't been destroyed the Hurricane Irma, and now Tampa will have to contend with Hurricane Glennon. Somehow I don't think they'll need to evacuate for that. Bucs 34, Bears 17
Minnesota at Pittsburgh--Is it possible that Antonio Brown keeps getting better every year? One of these days he's going to rack up 400 yards in one game. Steelers 24, Vikings 21
New England at New Orleans--If you like offense, don't miss this game. I wouldn't want to be Sean Payton Sunday afternoon--he's going to feel the wrath of Belichick and Brady after that dynamic duo was roasted by the Chiefs on opening night last week. Patriots 45, Saints 42
Philadelphia at Kansas City--The Andy Reid Bowl. I wonder if Philly fans realize that they sent a pretty good coach packing a few years back. His teams always overachieve and come out of nowhere when you least expect it. Chiefs 30, Eagles 20
Tennessee at Jacksonville--Are the Jags for real? We will find that out this weekend as Marcus Mariota is a much bigger test than Tom Savage was. Titans 27, Jags 20
Arizona at Indianapolis--Chuck Pagano has to be the lamest duck of lame ducks. If the Colts lose their home opener, Pagano's job may not survive the drive home. Cards 29, Colts 16
Buffalo at Carolina--I selfishly would like to see Christian McCaffrey continue to get many touches per game. No reason, I just want to rule my fantasy league....errrrrrr, see the young man excel at his job. Panthers 28, Bills 23
NY Jets at Oakland--Oh man, this is gonna be ugly. Raiders 38, Jets 7
Miami at LA Chargers--This is our first look at the Dolphins, who were washed out of their opener at home last week. And just the other day I remembered that the Dolphins were in the playoffs last season. Or was that a dream? Chargers 23, Dolphins 22
San Francisco at Seattle--This awesome rivalry is back! Back to no one really caring. Seahawks 28, Niners 12
Washington at LA Rams--The Rams will have more of a test this week than Scott Tolzien. But still, did the Rams really score 46 points? How many games did it take them last season to reach that? Rams 23, Redskins 20
Dallas at Denver--Hey look, Dallas gets to face a real offense this week! Cowboys 30, Broncos 24
Green Bay at Atlanta--A rematch of the NFC title game in a brand new stadium. This should be the best game of the week. Packers 37, Falcons 35
Detroit at NY Giants--No Odell, same stale Giants' offense. The Lions aren't worried about that, but they are worried about facing a defense that kept them out of the end zone in last year's 17-6 Giants' win. I love my Giants but I can't pick them until they show me something. Lions 20, Giants 10
